“India is youngest country.” This sentence is feel proud as an Indian but another is, “16 years old girl missing from Delhi was raped and killed by three boys from which two are minor.” Feel shame? I feel because if we have youngest country then why we are not superior in all the sectors? What our young generation doing? Rape? Let I put your attention on some data:
“Rape is the fourth most common crime against women in India According to the National Crime Records Bureau 2013 annual report, 24,923 rape cases were reported across India in 2012 and Rape of minor, that is someone below the age of consent, is a form of statutory rape Nearly 1 in 3 rape victims are below 18 years in” report by Wikipedia*.
“According to figures released by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), the total number of rape cases reported in India has gone up to 33,707 in 2013 from 24,923 in 2012” data from India today+.
You can find dozens of file and data on raping and kidnapping now I am showing you another analysis.
“India is the second most populous country in the world, with over 1.3 billion people (May 2016), India is projected to be the world’s most populous country by 2022. India has more than 50% of its population below the age of 25 and more than 65% below the age of 35. It is expected that, in 2020, the average age of an Indian will be 29 years, compared to 37 for China and 48 for Japan; and, by 2030, India’s dependency ratio should be just over 0.4.” Report by same site Wikipedia*.
“With 356 million 10-24 year-old, India has the world’s largest youth population despite having a smaller population than China, a latest UN report said.” Report by The Hindu+.
After reading are you in shock? Didn’t you think that this topic is dangers for us? Where is our youth power? I remembered whenever a case of rape comes in media everyone is going for candle march against police and government but we don’t think we miss our duty somewhere or we are not playing well.
These kinds of things are always done in front of us but no one is going to interfere because we think it’s not my duty or why should I go there. Did you see that advertisement of “officer’s choice” package drinking water? If not then here is the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1GcAYMToBjQ. In this they said to raise your voice not after rape but before rape. I am not favouring police. Recently I had read article in The Times Of India in which they mention that A girl missed in May was killed and the get led by her phone. I don’t know what they are doing but if they get led after murder then why not before murder?
This is my question for my friends and Indian police too, “What we are doing before rape?”
